After the consultation, when you go back to your car, take some more notes before you drive off. This is will be an important step in your search to find an attorney. I say "appropriately" because some discussions will never feel comfortable simply because of the subject matter.

However, the lawyer should provide you with specific legal counsel and if appropriate, should advise you on how to avoid making the same mistakes. How you feel about the lawyer and how you feel the lawyer sees you is a very important step in the search to find an attorney that is right for you. Were there any interruptions during the consultation? If there were interruptions, did they appear to be warranted? Did the lawyer seem distracted with other matters? Did the attorney seem sincere? Additionally, was the attorney able to understand the things you were trying to explain? And did you understand the things that the attorney explained to you?

Considering the answers to these questions will get you closer in your search to find a good lawyer and can be of great help when you are ready to choose a lawyer.
